- The JOGGER X81â„¢ sneaker draws inspiration from various jogging shoes in the ASICS® archive. The upper references various influences from the ULTIMATE, Tiger19® PAWâ„¢ X1, SORTIEâ„¢ LYTE GONAâ„¢, and X-CALIBERâ„¢ shoes. These 1980s details are harmonized with hairy suede overlays and mesh overlays. We took inspiration from the ULTIMATE shoe’s cushioning structure. By updating this technology with larger holes on the outside and smaller holes on the inside, the shoe offers better cushioning and stability. Meanwhile, the Caldera outsole design references the shape formed by Hawaiian volcanoes after they erupt and collapse. This unique design was initially intended to help prevent soil from getting stuck in the tread when running off-road.

the shoes were long enough, but they are very stiff; the toebox needs to bend at or before the lacing section, but it doesn’t with these shoes. The heel is stabilizing, which is good. But the shoe overall feels stiff and unbending. I have hammer toes, so I need a shoe that will have a roomy toebox and will be flexible but stabilizing.
