- The ASICS® GT-2000® 12 shoe is a versatile stability trainer that’s functional for various distances. It is reimagined with less weight and a smoother heel-to-toe transition. The 3D GUIDANCE SYSTEMâ„¢ consists of wider basenets and an increased heel bevel and forefoot flare. As a result, you’ll experience a silky-smooth transition from footstrike to toe-off. A polyester and jacquard mesh upper offers a supportive and comfortable foothold. At least 50% of the shoe’s main upper material is made with recycled content to reduce waste and carbon emissions. The removable OrthoLiteâ„¢ X-30 sockliner is produced with the solution dyeing process that reduces water usage by approximately 33% and carbon emissions by approximately 45% compared to the conventional dyeing technology. The shoes have a polyester and synthetic mesh lining. Reflective details are designed to improve visibility in low-light settings.
- Rearfoot PureGELâ„¢ technology improves impact absorption and creates a softer feeling at footstrike FF BLASTâ„¢ PLUS cushioning provides lightweight impact absorption and a responsive rebound.
- AHARPLUSâ„¢ heel plug rubber outsole helps improve durability and resistance against wear. ASICS LITE rubber is lighter and stronger than standard outsole rubbers. Bio-based cellulose nanofiber is also partially used.

Asics makes great shoes, but they missed with this one. The tongue has very little padding which makes the shoe uncomfortable. I hope version 13 has a padded tongue.

I have been running in the GT-2000 series exclusively since 2015. I pretty much stopped running for the past couple years, but picked it up again about 6 months ago with a new pair of GT-2000 10s. Dealt with some nagging shin issues, and I thought I may have started back too fast so I tried taking a break and coming back very slowly but the same thing happened. Then I thought maybe it was the shoes, and maybe I just needed something with more cushion now. So I went to my local running store to try out a bunch of different shoes and WOW, the GT-2000 has certainly changed. The 12 immediately felt much more cushioned than the 10, but still felt light, and the stability features are much more natural-feeling. I never would’ve thought that I would want a big change to a shoe I had been so loyal to for so long, but the updates have made them even more comfortable and more fun to run in. I’ve only taken them on a couple runs so far, but they felt great on both an easy run and a tempo run, and my shin issues were non-existent on both. Big fan of the GT-2000 12 and the updates they made.

Great support and cushioning. Does well on long runs. I got a blister on the inside side of my foot but I’m not sure if the shoe is to blame for that.

The tongue has very little padding which makes the shoe uncomfortable.

Bought this shoe and they were shipped in a bag which resulted in the shoe box being partially crushed. Tried them on and the feel way to big. I have two pairs of the older versions of this shoe both in a 12.5. Got this shoe in a 12.5 as well. I am going to have to return them and get half a size down. Feel like I could probably get away with a whole size down. As mentioned in other reviews online, the heel counter is not as good as in the older versions, and my heel tends to slip in these no matter how tight I tie them

This is probably my tenth or so pair of the GT2000, and until now I have been very satisfied, knowing that the fit would be consistent with each model. However the toe box is smaller in the 12 model, such that I cannot wear it without significant toe pain. I am disappointed in the change, and will have to look at a different model.

The GT-2000 12 is a very lightweight and comfortable shoe. I ran in ASICS running shoes back in the 1990’s but haven’t had a pair since then. These shoes are comfortable right out of the box. I wear them as lifestyle shoes and for walking. The fit is good and that is saying something for me. I am normally a New Balance man and wear a size 13 2E or 14 D in many of their lifestyle and running shoes. I ordered the GT-2000 12 shoes in 14 D and they fit fine with enough room in the toe box. I haven’t worn them enough to comment on durability but they appear well made. Just placed an order for two more pairs!

To be so honest these shoes are great ! Better than Hokas. I had to return two pairs of Hokas before I bought these shoes and the GT-2000 have worked absolutely amazing for my feet and ankles. I have flat feet yet the shoes does miracles for my feet especially when it comes to running. Awesome find and I hope this review helps someone else looking for a comfortable running shoes and looking to buy a shoe other than Hoka shoes. Buy these instead honestly.

I generally don’t like change, but Asics may have hit a triple with this 12th edition. I’ve have been running in the GT-2000 for probably fifteen years – getting old, still heavy, still need stability. After just one run/walk, these seem to offer more support, better cushioning in the forefoot (note that I do replace the factory insoles), a lightweight tongue, a comfortable upper at the heel, and slightly more breathability. I think this shoe is now on par with the Kayano without all its extra weight and bulk. I hope it continues to do well.
