My ankles generally will roll outwards when running but these completely stopped that from happening even when I would try to roll them to test it out
Jnlnorman –
These shoes are very comfortable and cushy. They are my 4th pair of Asics and the best yet. At 66 years old I am still energetic and going strong so I need all the support and help I can get…love these shoes!

The Gel-Cumulus 25 was a lifesaver after a running injury last year the 25s made me an Asics fan! When I needed a new pair, I pre-ordered the Gel-Cumulus 26; I was really excited about the new teal color. I wore the 26s for a week only to discover the vast differences between them and the previous model. Turns out, they are NOTHING alike! The cushioning is not nearly as plush especially in the heel. I was relying on the heel cushioning specifically, now I am working through shin splint pain. In addition, the 26s are cut narrower than the previous model. MY FEET HURT!!!
I’m so disappointed and really frustrated the “upgraded” model of my favorite shoes have re-injured me.

Asics has done it again! I have owned probably 4-5 pairs of Gel-Cumulus shoes over the last 10 years. I use these specifically for distance running. This will be my 3rd generation of Gel-Cumulus. I did a lot of research and tried on many Asics shoes before buying this latest model and here’s why I chose this shoe:
1. The new design – The sleek new design of the upper tongue is very comfortable, and Asics got rid of the underlay design that the last few models had — I didn’t like that look on the last Gel-Cumulus I owned. Plus the teal color is very attractive; I get lots of compliments!
2. It’s a neutral shoe – I personally don’t need a stability shoe. I was between this shoe and the Asics GT-2000 (a stability shoe) and the GT did not feel as comfortable to my foot. I felt like there was slightly more cushion in the toe of the Gel-Cumulus. I’m hoping this will help with the longevity of my shoe as I put on some miles.
3. Asics proven track record with previous Gel-Cumulus – This shoe has solidified in my mind that they produce high-quality shoes in comparison to “hot” brands like Nike or Adidas. I would much rather dish out money for a high-quality Asics shoe than throw away money for an aesthetic shoe that will not protect my feet. After many hours of shoe shopping over the last decade, I still have not found a running shoe outside of Asics that I prefer more than this model of shoe.
Here are a couple of things I’ve noticed about this new design:
– The heel cup is quite stiff at the top. I plan to wear higher socks since this bothers me slightly, but longer socks do the trick!
– After a handful of times worn, I am noticing creases in the foam. That’s to be expected from a foam sole since the shoe is forming to my foot. I noticed this in my last model of Gel-Cumulus as well. However, if this bothers you that the foam is not super stiff, you should keep that in mind while shopping.
Overall, I am super pleased with this shoe! I love the new design, the colors available, and that they are comfy on my high-arch, tiny feet! I am a true women’s size 5 and I wear a size 6 in Asics running shoes.

I was very disappointed in this Gel-Cumulus 26. It was uncomfortable and the back is higher than the older versions and it rubbed the back of my ankle. So I knew running in them would hurt. I have worn the Gel- Cumulus in the past and always loved the way they fit and felt. So I returned the Gel-Cumulus 26.
Hikester –
Great fit! I needed a shoe with a toe box that was just a touch wider than most. This model does the job. Since I uses these shoes as daily walkers (and thereby pound a lot of concrete and asphalt), I’m enjoying the springi-ness of the sole as well.
Al3bsey –
Comfortable shoes light weight and fitted size good for walking as my use for this shoes

I feel that the shoe itself is comfortable. But for me and also my daughter, they are painful to wear and hurt our ankles. The area around the ankles is too high and rubs against the ankle.
Anonymous –
Shoe is cushiony, easy to walk in and looks good but there’s not a lot of support for the inside arch of the foot. My feet get tired very quickly. The back of the heel is too high and presses into the back of your ankle if you have to kneel down. Bought them to replace my gel-cumulus 24 and am disappointed. These are not the successor to that shoe.
Maya –
Very comfortable, soft and attractive. Very nice cushiony feeling. Recommend.

The back of the shoe is too high and hits my achilles because it also curves in. I didn’t try to go for a walk because I knew they would cause pain in that area.
Nelly –
I have plantar fasciitis and boxy feet. I always look for a sneaker to accommodate my custom orthotics. Sizing up 1/2 size, selecting medium width and the comfortable wider toe box made this a great shoe for walking.
Micah –
So this is my first pair of ASICS. I knew there would be a learning curve as I’m used to NB. I hoped these would be a new pair of walking shoes. I liked the style but the added padding made me unstable. I tripped a few times trying to get used to them. Wearing them all day made my feet sore. For me they are good for short periods of time.
SoCalMishi –
This version of the gel cumulus is a little sleeker than the past couple of years, particularly in the heel. It’s more feminine looking, I think and I like them. Curiously, I had to size up half a size in these. I’ve been wearing this style since the 18 version and have always, always worn a 9. This time it was too short for me and my toes were smashed up against the shoe so I sized up to a 9.5. These days, it’s hard to tell if it’s just the color I got/which factory they were made in, etc. But just be warned and maybe try ordering two sizes to be sure. Width wise it seems like a true medium. There’s not a lot of arch support in this style, which I like because I have flat feet. But the overall ride is super cushy so your foot is really supported for the entire length. The tongue of this shoe in the 26 is very thin, different than before. That’s nice but it also had some scratchy threads on it. Overall, super happy with my purchase and the new updated version of this great shoe!

Suffered with metatarsal pain, these really help

The ASICS Gel Cumulus 26 fits well, has good cushioning, and some arch support. I have tried several Hoka sneakers in the past two years, and I just can’t get the right comfort or support — they feel very flat with not much arch support.
AR –
I always purchase ASICS but this style is for the first time. I love them! they are true to size, comfortable, plenty of toe room and I feel like I am walking on a cloud! size 11
Dale –
Felt slightly larger than usual. I don’t like to untie my shoes, so I like to slit my feet in. I found that the heel collapsed quite a bit. I love these shoes.

I’ve worn ASICS Gel sneakers for a long time. These are working out well. I like the cushiness of the sole & its stability. I wear a women’s 10 M, these don’t look like clown shoes to me!

I read so many reviews and researched as much as I could before buying these. And I am very happy with my purchase.
I also waited to write this review.
Details:
I have worn Saucony for years, different models of Saucony Hurricane. My last pair was about ten years old (!) and I couldn’t find an equivalent.
I am on my feet all day, but usually wear comfortable boots or sandals…Something professional yet comfortable.
I wear sneakers to exercise, walk the neighborhood for exercise, and increasingly wear them just for safety! I am pretty active, but not a regular runner or athlete.
One foot is slightly longer than the other, it seems, so a 6.5 and 7.5 = size 7.5 or 38.
I am on the smaller size but I always order wide shoes, and that works. And my feet are considered normal to narrow.
I ordered these in 7.5 D. They are comfortable and lightweight (they make wearing a sneakers bearable to this non-sneaker wearer!). They provide solid support and stability (I overpronate). They also look nice!
I think that footwear preferences and comfort is very personal, but I hope this viewpoint helps someone. I also love ordering from Zappos due to the helpful reviews and ability to return items that do not work. I find that even buying shoes at a brick and mortar physical store is a gamble because it sometimes takes a while to realize that they hurt.
These are a win for me. If you’re reading this, I hope you figure out the best purchase for you!

These sneakers held up well. I do about 12000 steps per day and felt comfortable in these sneakers. Great value.

I haven’t worn the shoe enough to know if I like it as well as my Brooks shoes. I like that it is light weight. So far it is fine. A bit narrow feeling after I’ve worn it a bit.

I love these shoes for walking, so much so that I hope I will never have to switch shoes again! My feet are on the wider side and this shoe has a wide toe box. I also have a high arch and a neutral gait and this shoe is very supportive and comfortable. There is no break-in period, they just feel great the moment you put them on! I usually wear an 8 1/2 -9 in a shoe, but I get these in a 9 1/2.
Sandra –
Size and fit were spot on. I love Asics and this is another great shoe in their line up. Love the support.

Seriously comfortable shoes! I look forward to my walks b/c of these shoes – honestly. I need a neutral shoe due to arthritis issues & often that can mean shoes that are just rather boring on my feet. These shoes are super comfy & supportive.
